- Shon: Lord Voldemort from the Harry Potter series.
- Wendy: At the moment I'm reading the Lunar Chronicles, and Queen Lavana is an evil character.
- Tina: The Darkling from the Grisha Trilogy (I want to get inside his head)
2. February (AMETHYST): Purple is associated with royalty - Name a book with regal qualities... You can base this off of characters of choose the King of all books
- Shon: My new favorite royals are the Royals (Ella Harper, Reed Royal, Callum Royal, Easton Royal, Gideon Royal, Sawyer Royal, Sebastian Royal) from Paper Princess by Erin Watt
- Wendy: Mr. Grey was basically royalty ;)
- Tina: Gansey from The Raven King (he is in his own way a King and Cabeswater listens to his commands)
3. March (AQUAMARINE): Washed out - Name a 'wishy washy' character, a character who is not strong or a follower
- Shon: Celaena Sardothien from the Throne of Glass series.
- Tina: Storm Siren by Mary Weber (really dislike Nym)
4. April (DIAMOND): A diamond in the rough - Name a book that you loved but is not well known
- Shon: Paper Princess (The Royals #1) by Erin Watt
- Wendy: The Mara Dyer Trilogy
- Tina: I really enjoy the Hex Hall series (doesn't seem like it's a big hit with the crowd)
5. May (EMERALD): Said to balance energy - Name two characters who balance each other well
- Shon: Percy Jackson and Annabeth Chase from Percy Jackson and the Olympians series
- Wendy: Lisa and Rose from Vampire Academy
- Tina: brother and sister Lada and Radu are two yin and yangs. Just finished this twisted story And I Darken and they are complete complements to each other.

7. July (RUBY): Blood red - Name a book that made your blood boil, one that made you angry

- Tina: Snow Like Ashes by Sara Raasch (all around disappointing)
8. August (PERIDOT): Pale green (it pales in comparison to other gems) - Name a supporting character who you like better than the main character
- Shon: Lucien from A Court of Thorns and Roses
- Wendy: Thorne from The Lunar Chronicles <3
- Tina: Kenji from the Shatter Me series. (The bbf of Adam that became Juliette's bbf. Great comedic relief.)
9. September (SAPPHIRE): Blue like the ocean which is calming - Name a book that had a calming affect on you
- Shon: The DUFF: Designated Ugly Fat Friend by Kody Keplinger
- Wendy: Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell
- Tina: Daughter of Smoke & Bone by Laini Taylor (currently doing my second reread of the year; it calms me with its melodic storytelling)
10. October (OPAL): Iridescent - Name an iridescent book, this can be a book with a beautiful cover (Shiny? Lots of colour?) or you can base it off of a character (Quirky? Colourful?)
- Shon: Storm Siren by Mary Weber. This was a total cover buy for me.
- Wendy: Magnus Chase and the GODS of ASGARD by Rick Riordan
- Tina: Everland by Wendy Spinale (the most gorgeous golden velvety book cover I've ever seen)
11. November (TOPAZ): Associated with resilience - Name a book with a character who rises to the top in a time of adversity
- Shon: Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone by J.K. Rowling
12. December (BLUE ZIRCON): Associated with friendship - Name a book with a friendship you want to be apart of
- Shon: Gossip Girl by Cecily von Ziegesar
- Wendy: Harry, Ron, and Hermione :) hehe
