Meanwhile, brutal and monstrous forces are gathering on the horizon, intent on enslaving her world. Will Celaena find the strength to not only fight her inner demons, but to take on the evil that is about to be unleashed?

MY REVIEW/THOUGHTS

Man this book was very hard to get through. I enjoyed the first 2 books, but this one got me into a reading slump. I couldn't keep up with the chapters as it would change from different characters POV's. The book is basically Celaena training once again and a few more boys to add to her list of lovers. ( How many more boys will we encounter? Should I sign her up for the next bachelorette?) Celaena had a lot of issues ( more issues than vouge. jk) to resolve in this book but these issues revealed her heritage and an amazing new reveal to her magic power. In order for her to reveal this magic power she had to conquer demons that would mentally mess with her mind. ( Ok, sidebar. I kept picturing Harry Potter's dementors!!) I think this is where her character development started to play a role, she went from Celaena to Aelin ( she has three names in total, thus far...*cough*). The book also introduces the witches and Manon Blackbea, heir of the Blackbeak coven of the Ironteeth witches and leader of the Thirteen. BUT...(all we're missing is the black cat.) the witches are a part of the King's unholy plans. Another BUT!!! she might have a change of heart....?

Now the question I have been avoiding is will I read the next book? Yes. Only because I've invested so much time in this series I can't just leave it. Plus, the second half of the book wasn't so bad ( I just had to climb a steep mountain in order to get there hahaa) But i made it and now on to the next!
